You know that cars are more than just transportation; they’re artistic representations of engineering marvel. When you buy a unique car like the Audi R8, you’re not just buying into the name — you’re buying into generations of passion, experience, and dreams. When the owner of this 2017 Audi R8 came to us, he knew two things: he wanted to protect his investment, and he wanted to make his ride even more distinctive. To us, the first step we needed to take was clear — provide extra paint protection. We needed to protect this car from the harshness of the road, so we applied SunTek paint protection film (PPF) to the headlights, mirrors, rockers, and full front clip to ensure that it would be protected against water, insects, road debris, and other stains. In addition to PPF, we applied SunTek Ceramic Window Tint to all four windows. According to our friends at SunTek, unlike standard tint, the addition of ceramic technology enhances solar performance and infrared rejection while maintaining a fully nonmetal construction for no signal interference with onboard or portable electronic devices. Finally, with the low ground clearance of the Audi R8, installing a skid plate was also a must! We went with a Scrape Armor precision skid plate to protect the car from front-splitter damage caused by steep driveways, parking curbs, and more. To protect the R8 from the elements when it’s not moving, we sourced a Covercraft custom fit car cover, which we highly recommend for anyone who is unable to store their vehicle in a sterile indoor environment for extended periods of time. We mentioned earlier that the owner wanted to take his R8 to the next level — and we did just that! In addition to the protection components we applied, we really wanted to provide a premium degree of customization to make this car stand out on the streets. To kick things off, we took an extremely attractive sports car and took it to the next level with modifications such as a Black Optics grille, gloss-black emblem kit, H&R lowering springs, and a carbon-fiber gas door cover. Then, it was time for our customer to pick some wheels to complete this visual transformation. Vossen Wheels were the clear answer to ensure we were getting the quality and options we desired. Thanks to Vossen’s tailor-level service, our customer was able to pick every detail of the wheel from the get-go! We went over colors, bolt color, bolt location, hidden hardware, finish, and the option to have one- or three-piece wheels. The team at Vossen created a couple of renderings of what the wheels would look like when installed, and then it was off to the races! The combination, completely customized by the owner of the R8, was a perfect match: Wheel: Vossen M-X4T 3-piece Brushed face in Dark Smoke Transparent Inner barrel in Solid Satin Black Outer barrel in Solid Satin Black Hidden hardware placing bolts on back side of face Vossen signature lug bolts 20″ x 9″ front — flush to fender 21″ x 12″ rear — flush to fender We fit the wheels with 245/30/R20 and 325/25/R21 Continental Contact 6 tires.
