Michael’s 1983 Porsche 911 Targa Detail

We had this 1983 Porsche 911 Targa in our shop to be detailed. The paint needed correction and the vehicle had been repainted at some point during its life. Enter Michael Barney, Detail Specialist here at SweetCars. An experienced detailer and certainly no stranger to paint correcting Porsches, Michael had his work cut out for him on this Porsche, but he transformed this old Targa into a show winning piece. Here are some pictures of Michael’s detail of the Porsche Targa.

It all starts with prepping the Targa for correction. Masking off areas to protect surfaces.
Here’s an example of what the paint looked before correction.
Michael then starts with the first phase of the correction process. This process eliminates the swirls and scratches.
The paint is worked at a slow pace to meticulously remove the imperfections.
After a 2 step process, this section gets wiped down.
Here is the end result, a flawless paint with a deep gloss and shine.
