Paint Correction Lighting

I’ve recently detailed a Honda Civic Si for a client who has kept this vehicle meticulously detailed and for a 2009, it was in excellent condition. The paint was maintained by a another detail shop and although the car had a shiny clean look to it, I noticed that there were traces of light scratches and swirls all over. The color should of made it easy to see them, but the scratches

Fort Wayne Cars and Coffee Pics

This past Saturday, March 24th was the first Fort Wayne Cars and Coffee event at Jefferson Pointe. The event took place at Starbucks and although the weather did not quite cooperate that morning, many came out to support it despite the rain. One supporter came from as far away as Toledo, Ohio in his Ferrari California. SCCA, Lingenfelter Performance, Byler Photography and Kimmel Autoworks were also there in support of the local

Audi RS4 Detail

The RS4 painted in GraphiteGrau, has a deep metallic finish and needed just that extra touch to make it stand out

BMW M3 Paint Correction Detail

I while back I had the pleasure of doing an engine detail on this gorgeous 2001 BMW M3 in PhoenixGelb Metallic. The owner had called up a few weeks ago to schedule some paint correction on his M3 to get it ready for the car show season. This BMW M3 is a definite head-turner, and correction on the paint would make it even more spectacular. BMW is known throughout the detailing world for having one

Great Quote

Here is a quote that I’d like to share with everyone. I have this quote in my detailing storage cabinet and as a detailer its words to live by. ” Strive for perfection in everything. Take the best that exists and make it better. If it doesn’t exist, create it. Accept nothing nearly right or good enough.” – Sir Henry Royce

The SweetCars Approach to Engine Detailing

The SweetCars approach to engine detailing is to make an engine look the way it did when it left the factory. That is to say that we don’t believe in “overly dressed” engine detailing. The type of detailing where every part you touch leaves a greasy feeling. The car was never intended to look that way from the factory and I for one, stand on the side of preservation and

How to Polish Exhaust Tips with Griot’s Heavy Duty Metal Polish

Here’s a great how-to on polishing exhaust tips on your car. I used Griot’s Heavy Duty Metal Polish, 0000 augt steel wool, detail swabs and a shop microfiber towel to buff. When I washed the vehicle, I used Griot’s Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner to remove the grime and dirt from the exhaust tips prior to polishing. You can find these products from Griot’s at the Driver’s Edge at SweetCars. Here

2007 Harley-Davidson FLHX Streetglide Detail

I had the opportunity to detail something a little different from the usual, a 2007 Harley-Davidson FLHX Streetglide. Normally our shop is known for detailing automobiles, but on occasion I get called to do something different. Whether I’m detailing Marine, Aviation or Motorcycles, each of them require different techniques and must be approached differently. In the case of this Harley-Davidson, I had to change gears from my approach to detailing
